Nepal's most exclusive itinerary. Eleven days combining the country's finest hotels, its most extraordinary experiences and an itinerary designed to show Nepal at its absolute best. From the medieval grandeur of Dwarika's Hotel Kathmandu to a private helicopter to Everest Base Camp, from the eco-villa privacy of The Pavilions Himalayas to the mountain stillness of Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel, this programme represents Nepal at the very top of what the destination can offer. Every element is private, every hotel is personally inspected, and every experience is organised exclusively for your group.
The centrepiece is the Everest Base Camp helicopter experience – a private charter to 5,364m above sea level, landing at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall with Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and the surrounding peaks filling the horizon. Nothing else in Nepal delivers the scale of this moment. We combine it with 48 hours at Dwarika's Hotel Kathmandu for cultural orientation, a Pokhara interlude at The Pavilions Himalayas for complete luxury relaxation, and a Nagarkot mountain sunrise experience before the Dhulikhel wellness retreat closes the journey. The sequence is designed to move through Nepal's dimensions – cultural, adventurous, natural, restorative – in an order that feels like a complete narrative.
Two nights at Dwarika's Hotel, the most culturally significant luxury property in Nepal. Full-day private cultural tour of Kathmandu's UNESCO sites with an expert guide: Pashupatinath Temple at the morning aarti, Boudhanath Stupa at dusk, the royal squares and medieval palaces of the old city. Private dinner in the hotel's heritage courtyard. Optional morning yoga or Ayurvedic treatment at the hotel spa.
Private helicopter charter from Kathmandu at dawn. Flying above the Khumbu Valley past Ama Dablam, Pumori and the surrounding massif before landing at Everest Base Camp (5,364m) for 20–30 minutes on the glacier. Return flight via Namche Bazaar for a brief stop before flying back to Kathmandu. This is the single most extraordinary experience available in Nepal and is weather-dependent – we monitor conditions carefully and have contingency days built into the programme.
Three nights at The Pavilions Himalayas in a private eco-luxury villa with Annapurna views. Farm-to-table dining, spa, infinity pool and complete tranquility above the Pokhara valley. Optional Sarangkot sunrise, Phewa Lake boat trip and paragliding.
One night at a premium Nagarkot property for the Himalayan sunrise. Transfer to Dwarika's Resort Dhulikhel for two nights of Ayurvedic treatments, yoga, mountain views and mountain air. The resort's panorama of 20+ Himalayan peaks is the finest close-to-Kathmandu mountain view in Nepal.

About Kathmandu: With its ornate palaces, temples and squares, Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is a fascinating place. Ideal for exploring by foot, the city offers a startling array of market stalls and craft shops selling locally produced goods. What's more, the people are considered to be amongst the friendliest in Asia. Highlights include the courtyards and chambers of the Royal Palace, Durbar Square with its highly-detailed wooden temples and the Red Towers for a view of the city and the surrounding mountain peaks. There are various interesting sights in the outlying area around Kathmandu such as Swayambhunath, a 2,000 year old Buddhist stupa supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a copper-gilded pinnacle and Bhaktapur, an enchanting ancient city with winding alleyways and a stunning palatial complex brimming with architectural gems. The altitude of Kathmandu is 1,370 metres.
Fly to Pokhara and tranfer to Shangri-La. The rest of the day will be at leisure.
About Pokhara: Surrounded by the snow-capped Himalayas, Pokhara is known for its magnificent mountain views, as well as its lovely lakes which have their source in the nearby glacial Annapurna Range. A place of remarkable natural beauty, Pokhara also offers splendid views of the fishtailed summit of Mt. Machhapuchhre. It's also the starting point for many spectacular treks and day walks in the area and as it is only at a height of 884 metres, some of these are not too challenging.
Today enjoy a sightseeing tour of Pokhara Valley including visits to the beautiful Devis Fall, Gupteswar Cave, Mahendra Cave, the International Mountain Museum, Bindya Basini Temple and Bahari Temple. Evening meal at your hotel and overnight.
Drive to Chitwan National Park and spend the rest of our day at leisure.
At the foot of the Himalayas, Royal Chitwan National Park is one of the few remaining undisturbed vestiges of the Terai region, which formerly extended over the foothills of India and Nepal. It has a particularly rich flora and fauna, one of the last populations of single-horned Asiatic rhinoceros and is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal tiger. The park can be explored in a variety of ways; on foot, by boat or on elephant back. Your lodge will discuss this in more detail with you.
This morning enjoy the park including exciting and invigorating walks through the lush sub-tropical jungle. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy an elephant safari, a canoe tour along the Rapti River and visit the elephant breeding centre. Throughout this day you might also spot a number of endangered animals such as the enigmatic Royal Bengal Tiger, crocodiles, rhinos, wild boar, monkeys, leopards and birds. Evening meal at your hotel and overnight.
Journey by car to Lumbini and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
One of the most important Buddhist sites in the world, Lumbini is the birthplace of the Buddha. Today, visitors can see the archaelogical excavations, some of which date to the 4th century BC and current places of worship including the Sacred Garden where a large peepul tree and ancient pillar constructed by the Emperor Ashoka in 250BC are two of the most sacred sites. More modern additions to the site include a research centre and library.
Drive to Bardia before spending the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Located in the terai, the sub-tropical region of Nepal which borders India and forms part of the Gangetic Plain, Bardia National Park and is a mixture of forest and grassland with the Babai River running through the centre of the park. Amongst the 30 species of mammal the park are tiger, rhino, elephant, crocodile and monkey besides 400 species of birds. It has a good reputation for wildlife spotting and is less commercialised that Chitwan.
